The Great Movie Ride is housed in the Chinese theater, just behind Mickey Mouse's big hat, when he was a sorcerer. This area is actually called Hollywood Boulevard, and you will have no problem finding it. Upon entering the attraction you will start to see some elements of famous movies, such as vehicles and outfits.
Then you will enter a cinema, which is actually a line. In this wait, you will see small fragments of different films filmed throughout history, many of them nominated or winning Oscar awards.
Finally at the end of the line, you can enter the studies. You really enter a bus with multiple chairs. Be sure to tell the operator how many people you're traveling with, so everyone travels together or in rows in a row.
Each bus has a driver, who is really an actor who will take you on an interesting tour. In fact, at the beginning of the tour, the cameras start rolling (that's what they say) and say "action". The driver will talk permanently with the assistants.
The tour has many animatornics that make the different characters come to life. You will be able to experience light effects, sound and even sing along with music known from these movies. At the end of the tour, they show you a short video of what has been the history of cinema.
